Help needed:

The Game Design, Development, and Arts programs at the University of Canterbury need our help!

They have their second and third year Game project courses coming up in Semester 2 (starting 15th of July), and in these courses students will work on developing prototypes of games as part of their studies, to give a more industry focused and authentic experience of what it's like to be a Game Designer, Game Artist, or Game Developer.

As part of that, UC would like to be able to offer industry proposed projects for their students to work on, either from companies or individuals working in the industry. There's no cost to you for this, all they ask is an hour or so every week to talk with the students and give them feedback on your projects.

If you're interested in being involved, or would like more information, please read and reach out to UC directly.  Thank you! 🙏

Feature article:

Avid Legal's Wade Pearson talks when to get a lawyer!
Lawyers will generally tell you to get legal advice. But knowing when to get legal advice is sometimes tricky.

There’s also a lot you can do yourself in the early stages, without paying a lawyer. So if you’re starting or growing a gamedev studio, how do you know when to see a lawyer?
image
In this guide, we’ll look at some common legal firsts, and break down when to do it yourself (DIY) and when to call a lawyer. Remember: this is not legal advice. We’ve tried to keep things general, so this won’t apply for all situations.
